Aero-TV At NBAA21: The King Air Gets The Tamarack Treatment

Active Winglet Technology Specifically Sought After By SERIOUS King Air Operators

Tamarack Aerospace showed off their newest addition to the Performance Smartwing line at NBAA 2021, their Active Winglets for King Air 200 and 350. Nick Guida, CEO of Tamarack, talks with us about the origins and development of their new King Air add-on, its similarities to their Cessna Citation upgrade, and what to expect for King Air operators. Tamarack has gained a lot of interest this year, as one of the few companies offering a turnkey upgrade that can increase performance, fuel efficiency, and comfort. Why? As Guida says:

“If you really want to attack sustainability and emissions, you go after the planes that fly all the time. So the CJ’s were a step on the way up to the narrowbodies... We’re almost like the poster children of [sustainability] because this modification can be put on in a relatively short period of time, so we can have it right now. If the operators are able to climb to higher altitudes, at the weights that they are operating now, able to climb at faster rates, above winglet-ed airplanes like the 737, we can save 15 to 18 percent on top of that.”
