Aviation's First Panel-Mounted Pulse Oximeter And CO Detector Introduced

Interfaces Available For Most Major Flight Management Systems

CO Guardian, LLC., is introducing aviation’s first built-in pulse oximeter for airplane panels. This Life Guardian Aero-355 has been designed for all aircraft with limited panel space. The small pulse Oximeter with CO Detector mounts easily in most panels and transmits data to the MFD’S via RS232. Current MFD manufacturers include Electronics International, Advanced Flight Technologies, Grand Rapids Instruments and on upcoming releases of Avidyne Entegra Release 9.

The unit transmits the pilot’s blood oxygen levels (SPO2), heart rate statistics, CO Level, Cabin temperature and Cabin Altitude to the MFD’s display units. The pilot inserts a finger in the unit and quickly gets readouts so he/she can determine his/her general physical and his environmental condition. Aero-355 reminds the pilot when he/she passes 10K and every 30 minutes above 10K to check his/her SPO2 and Heart Rate.

CO Guardian is the leader in carbon monoxide detectors for General Aviation. It is standard safety equipment on all new Cessna 172, 182, 206, 350, 400, Cirrus SR20, SR22, Diamond DA40 and Skycrane helicopters.

The detector can be integrated with Garmin G900X, G1000, GNS480, Electronic Instrument EI-MVP50, Advance-Flight Systems model AF-2500/AF-3500, Grand Rapids (Sport Series Engine Monitor and Horizon 1),and Aerosonic/OPT Technology Flight op. By early 2010 we will be integrated with Dynon. The company currently does not offer an interface with the Garmin 430/530.

The data on MFDs may include: CO level, cabin temperature and cabin pressure via RS232 or 0-5V output to the Multi Functional Displays.

The new Aero 355 which will display CO Level, Blood Oxygen Level, Heart Rate, Cabin Altitude will integrate with Electronic Instrument EI-MVP50, Advance-Flight Systems model AF-2500/AF-3500, Grand Rapids (Sport Series Engine Monitor and Horizon 1). Integration with Dynon and Avidyne Release 9 is planned for release soon.
