Embraer Delivers 1,100th ERJ 145

Historic Landmark Is Set By A Legacy 600 Executive Jet

Embraer delivered the 1,100th aircraft of the ERJ 145 jet family last week in São José dos Campos, Brazil. The airplane is a Legacy 600 executive jet, a model which has reached over 160 deliveries to 25 countries, since entering service in 2002.

Based on the ERJ 145 regional jet platform, with nearly 900 jets delivered to airlines worldwide since 1996, the Legacy 600 has become increasingly popular with private owners, charter operators, corporations, and governments. The Legacy 600 shares important qualities with the regional jet platform, including low fuel consumption, reduced operating costs, ease of maintenance, and outstanding reliability. It is customized for the needs of the executive aviation market, with a range of 3,400 nautical miles, three distinct cabin zones, and global assistance at dedicated executive jet service centers.

“This moment is especially gratifying, in that the 1,100th ERJ 145 family aircraft is a Legacy 600, which has experienced strong acceptance in the executive aviation market,” said Frederico Fleury Curado, Embraer President and CEO. “We congratulate the thousands of Embraer employees who have contributed to the success of the ERJ 145 program.” The aircraft will be managed on behalf of its owner by London Executive Aviation (LEA), one of Europe’s leading business air charter operators. LEA operates a diverse fleet of 25 executive aircraft from seven bases in the United Kingdom. The company has extensive experience in operating the Legacy 600, and the new aircraft will join two others presently in the LEA fleet.

Said Patrick Margetson-Rushmore, Chief Executive of LEA, “our experience with the Legacy 600 has been extremely positive. The aircraft is very well suited to the European market, and Embraer has delivered consistently excellent dispatch reliability and service. We have no doubt that this new airplane will perform very well for its owner, our charter customers, and ourselves as the operator.”
