The Small Aircraft Revitalization Act of 2013 has been introduced in the Senate. This is the Senate companion to H.R. 1848, introduced by U.S. Representative Mike Pompeo (R-KS) and a bipartisan group of U.S. House members earlier this month.
An unspecified number of workers have been laid off at Cessna, according to a company statement. The move came last Thursday, a month after the planemaker asked for voluntary retirements from both salaried and hourly workers. A PA-34 twin engined Seneca reportedly broke apart in flight before impacting the ground last Friday in a wooded area near Ephratah, NY claiming the lives of the pilot and two passengers.
