IBAC Recognizes 10 And 15-Year IS-BAO Operators

IBM, Shell, And Boeing Among 17 Flight Departments Reaching Milestones

The International Business Aviation Council (IBAC) recently held a reception to recognize operators for outstanding longevity of participation in the International Standard for Business Aircraft Operations (IS-BAO). Among the 17 operators achieving the 10- and 15-year milestones, IBM, Shell Aircraft Limited, and Boeing Executive Flight Operations attended the reception in Orlando at the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) convention and exhibition to accept certificates of recognition from the IS-BAO Program Director, Bennet Walsh.

Launched in 2002, the International Standard for Business Aircraft Operations (IS-BAO) is a voluntary, global code of best safety practices for the business aviation industry designed by the business aviation industry.  Tailored specifically for business aircraft operators, IS-BAO is built upon and consistent with the standards and recommended practices of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and has the safety management system concept at its core.  The Standard is recognized by several national regulatory authorities.

“These operators are industry leaders as well as pioneers in their adoption of the global IBAC safety standard, and we commend them for their commitment to excellence and safety,” stated Kurt Edwards, Director General of IBAC. “Congratulations to all our 10- and 15-year recipients. I am sure the management and staff of these companies are very proud of their flight operations’ pledge to professionalism and their continued dedication to a safety culture.”
