GS-14 Job Pays Up To $131,833 Per Year
If you're looking for a new career opportunity in the new year, the National Park Service is looking for a National Aviation Program Manager at an annual salary of $101,409 to $131,833 per year ... and a pilot certificate is not even required.
The position is located at the National Interagency Fire Center (NIFC) in Boise, ID, and serves as the NPS program manager for aviation. The Aviation Program Manager provides leadership and direction for NPS aviation programs, with specific emphasis on national aviation policy, standards and procedures. Responsible for policy, planning, directing, development and evaluation of a Service-wide aviation program.
Other responsibilities include:
- Identifies plans, mission statements, goals, and objectives.
- Serves as the primary service representative for determining funding formulas and other costs related services provided.
- Provides full range of technical and administrative supervisory responsibilities.
- Prepares reports on national level program activity, analysis results, and accomplishments.
- Serves as the NPS focal point to ensure aviation management policies reflect a high priority for aviation safety and risk management.
- Participates in high-level agency and interagency meetings and provide advice and develops recommendations that may be incorporated into national level interagency standards and operating procedures related to aviation resource use.
The only "selective placement factor" is at least 90 days of wildland firefighting experience. Preferred skills include knowledge of aircraft and associated support systems for resource management; wildland fire management, law enforcement, search and rescue, and related flying activities, and; evaluation and audit processes for aviation safety and risk management analysis.
