FlightSafety will establish a major full-service learning center
at Farnborough Airport, near London, the home of the historic
Farnborough Airshow. Farnborough Airport was selected to provide an
attractive and convenient location for business aircraft operators
from around the world. The new facility is scheduled to be ready
for training next year.
The new center will offer a world-class range of
customer amenities including the latest developments in high-tech
classrooms, interactive pilot briefing rooms, study areas, and
first-class customers’ service facilities.
The Farnborough center will bring advanced flight simulators and
state-of-the-art training systems closer to many business aircraft
operators. The comprehensive resources of FlightSafety’s
simulator design and manufacturing organization in Tulsa will
permit the rapid development of a diverse selection of JAA-approved
training programs and simulators for the new center at
Farnborough.
TAG Aviation has been involved in a five-year project to develop
Farnborough into a major business aviation center in Europe. In
January of this year, the company received CAA certification of the
airfield, which led to the finalization of TAG’s 99-year
lease on the property. In addition to runway improvements and the
installation of an ILS, TAG has constructed 120,000 square feet of
new hangar and office space to support its growing base of
customers. The design of a new terminal and office complex will be
completed soon, with construction slated to begin later this
year.
FlightSafety currently provides regional aircraft training
facilities in England. The Manchester Airport location offers an
advanced ERJ-145/135 full flight simulator. A FlightSafety learning
center at Paris/Le Bourget Airport provides pilot and maintenance
technician training for the operators of a variety of business
aircraft and regional airliners.
