ALPA Praises Senate Commerce Committee Vote

Urges Rapid Confirmation Of Duffy As DOT Head

Capt. Jason Ambrosi, President of the Air Line Pilots Association, Int’l (ALPA), released the statement below after the Senate Commerce Committee unanimously approved the nomination of Sean Duffy to advance to a full Senate vote for confirmation as Secretary of Transportation:

"Sean Duffy's commitment to transportation safety and infrastructure development makes him well-qualified to address the complex issues facing our nation's air transportation system and we urge his swift confirmation by the full Senate.

“We believe that Duffy will strongly advocate for maintaining the United States' role as the global leader in aviation safety and for prioritizing U.S. aviation workers, and we look forward to working with him as we address critical aviation safety and infrastructure challenges.

“ALPA remains committed to our long-standing collaboration with the Department of Transportation and, under Duffy's leadership, looks forward to advancing aviation safety and strengthening airline workers’ vital role in our nation's economy."

ALPA was founded in 1931 and is the world’s largest airline pilot union, representing over 79,000 pilots at 42 airlines in the U.S. and Canada.
