Four Dead In Northern Ontario Accident

Police divers in northern Ontario have found the bodies of three Americans and a Canadian who died when their de Havilland DHC-2 float plane (file photo of type, right) went down in a lake near Kenora. By Thursday, they were figuring a plan of attack to recover the bodies from the lake bed.

The aircraft went down on Tuesday in Fawcett Lake, about 68 miles north of Sioux Lookout. Transport Canada officials said the aircraft was on a flight to Fawcett Lake from Sioux Lookout.

The victims have been identified as:

  • Frederick Illsley, 29, of Winnipeg, pilot
  • Kenneth Schremp, 49, of Edgerton (WI)
  • Eric Dixon, 39, of Delaware (OH)
  • Aaron Rogahn, 26, of Kaukauna (WI)
