Savback Helicopters Buys Mayman

Order for 25 High-Speed Cargo UAV Planned with Savback LOI

Savback Helicopters, a multi use helicopter and fixed-wing sales specialist, has signed a letter of intent with Mayman Aerospace, signifying their interest in buying 25 of the firm's Speeder.

The Air Utility Vehicle is a compact, small-footprint, high-speed VTOL aircraft, designed to be a kind of logistical "swiss army knife". The Speeder is expected to provide "incredible maneuverability, high-speed, and heavy payload capabilities that will prove popular to military customers throughout the mountainous regions of Europe. Roughly comparable to an aeronautical rendition of a 4-wheeler, the Speeder is designed around a 1,000-lb payload and 400-sm range, with a top speed north of 500 mph in uncrewed flight. The Speeder's first piloted tests are expected to take place towards the end of Q4 2023.

“The Speeder is an outstandingly versatile machine. We are proud to announce our intent to add this advanced technology to our existing portfolio," said Michael Savback, charman. "This aircraft is well placed to satisfy the growing needs of our military forces for vehicles that can support contested logistics, casevac and cargo missions in minimal time with maximum reliability. The autonomously piloted Speeder reduces human risk and strengthens existing fleet proficiencies; it’s a winning formula all around.”

“This is a milestone moment for Speeder development as it demonstrates there is a real need for this disruptive, powerful technology,” said David Mayman, CEO and founder of Mayman Aerospace. "Michael Savback’s understanding of and vision for the operational potential of the aircraft highlights the game-changing capabilities of Speeder. We always planned to change how the world thinks about flying. The addition of Speeder AUVs to the Savback portfolio demonstrates that we have begun to achieve this goal."
