The pilot and owner of a 1945 Grumman TBM Avenger is asking for help locating the airplane he was forced to abandon during a flight last year, and he's willing to pay $20,000 to anyone who finds the airplane. The Airplane Factory made an epic trip from California to Wisconsin for AirVenture, flying a Sling TSi airplane from Torrence, CA to Wittman Regional Airport on one tank of gas. The Airplane Factory pilot Wayne Toddun told Aero-New Editor in Chief Jim Campbell that the flight took about 14 hours. During the flight, the crew took the airplane up to about 27,000 feet in a ceiling test of the airplane.
