ATA, the nation's tenth-largest airline, was set to file
bankruptcy on Tuesday, hiring its former CFO back as "chief of
restructuring." Like other airline bankruptcies of late, you can
chalk this one up, in part, to rising fuel costs and shrinking
fares. However, unlike other recent airline bankruptcies, this one
may very well end in liquidation or at least a merger, according to
ALPA executive Erik Enghdal.
