FAA Issues TFRs In NJ Due To Questionable Drone Activity

Restrictions Cover Trump Bedminster, Army’s Picatinny Arsenal In Dover

The FAA has confirmed it issued two Temporary Flight Restrictions (TFRs) in New Jersey covering the U.S. Army’s Picatinny Arsenal in Dover and the Trump National Golf Club Bedminster in Somerset County. The restrictions were issued after requests from “federal security partners” and reports of questionable drone activity near the areas affected. The FBI is said to be investigating the reported sightings of mysterious drone activity over Central New Jersey.

Russian National Arrested, Aircraft Seized In Illegal Export

Tried To Smuggle Two Cessnas To Russia Via Armenia

Sergey Nechaev is a dual U.S.-Russian citizen arrested in the Southern District of Georgia on charges of unlawfully attempting to export two small aircraft to Russia without the required license from the U.S Department of Commerce. The aircraft involved were seized by the U.S. government. The indictment alleges that Nechaev engaged in a scheme to smuggle two Cessna aircraft from the U.S to Russia. Specifically, he was attempting to export a 1968 Cessna 172K and a 1973 Cessna, together valued at about $170,000, to a purported Russian flight school by falsely representing that the destination and end user of the aircraft were in Armenia.

NTSB Prelim: Beech 35-B33

No Anomalies Were Noted In The Examined Airframe Components

On November 15, 2024, about 1000 mountain standard time (MST), a Beech 35-B33, N285BW, was destroyed when it was involved in an accident near Nunn, Colorado. The pilot was fatally injured. The airplane was operated as a Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 91 personal flight. The flight originated from Chadron Municipal Airport (KCDR), Chadron, Nebraska, with an intended destination of Platte Valley Airport (18V), Hudson, Colorado; a distance of about 180 nautical miles (nm). No ADS-B, radar data, or ATC communications were obtained at the time of the on site investigation.
