Multi-Role, Turboprop Bush Plane Gaining Popularity After Quest Aircraft Acquisition

Daher's Kodiak celebrated a milestone when it recently delivered the 300th plane, an important moment for the high-wing, turboprop workhorse. Introduced in 2007 as a STOL option for those needing reliable, capacious, hardy aircraft for remote missions, the Kodiak saw itself quickly pressed into service in humanitarian, medical, governmental, and special mission sectors. The Kodiak squared off with similar backwoods aircraft in offering an unimproved, dirt-strip performance takeoff distance of 1,000 feet, as well as a 1,000 nm range, performance metrics that obviated the need to choose between rotary aircraft and light jets.

Commemorative Air Force Begins '12 Planes of Christmas'

Annual Online Giving Event Shows Restoration Status of 12 Classic Warbirds

The Commemorative Air Force has begun its annual fundraising event in support of its preservation mission, selecting 12 of its projects in progress to focus their efforts. The group highlights the work of its volunteer members who maintain and repair the irreplaceable vintage aircraft, each a unique piece of history. Each of the 12 days will focus on the history, the current state, the needed work, and the individual story of one of the group's 170-strong fleet. Donations to the group will go towards the Restoration Grant Fund, and are tax-deductible when paid to the 501c3 organization.

Apex Flight Academy received its first Tecnam P2012 SMP aircraft at Taoyuan International Airport in Taiwan on November 16, 2021, following a long 6,600 nm journey from its factory in Capua, Italy. Bouncing through Russia, Siberia, and South Korea, braving temps as low as -24? C, the aircraft brings additional multi-mission capabilities to the company. Apex plans for a broad service portfolio for the aircraft, including passenger transport, air ambulance missions, sightseeing tours, parachute jumping, aerial photography, and flight training.
