Mesa, Republic Confirm Merger With Hopes to Seal the Deal in Late 2025
Mesa Air Group and Republic Airways Holdings came forward with a somewhat unexpected merger announcement on April 4. Though the pair is still hammering out details, the deal is expected to close in late 2025. They will operate a conjoined fleet of 310 Embraer 170/175 jets, with over 240 coming from Republic.
Just weeks after low-cost carrier Spirit Airlines fought its way out of bankruptcy, CEO Ted Christie decided his work there was done. The operator will be led by an interim executive team as it progresses through a major rebrand. Christie had been with Spirit Airlines since 2012 as its Chief of Finance, stepping into the role of CEO in 2019.
ESA Already Operational On 130 Aircraft, Delivering In-Flight Connectivity
Intelsat, operator of integrated satellite and terrestrial networks and provider of in-flight connectivity, announced it has installed its multi-orbit Electronically Steered Array system on 130 aircraft where they are delivering reliable streaming connectivity to passengers. The company also announced it has secured orders for installing the system on 1,000 aircraft.
