CrewPASS program, paving the way for nationwide expansion. CrewPASS
is an initiative that verifies flight crew identity through
biometrics, enhancing security and expediting the screening process
for all travelers.

On Oshkosh Friday, AeroShell Square was ringed with some of the

Starting off Oshkosh 2009 with a bang, Garmin International
announced the G500, a new avionics suite designed specifically for
Part 23 Class I and Class II aircraft, which are defined as single
and twin-engine piston and turbine engine aircraft under 6,000
pounds.
Aero-TV sat down with Art Mortvedt, the current pilot and owner
of the Polar Pumpkin, to discuss his exciting plans to land the
aircraft at both Poles.
More Cancellations Than Orders a Possibility, Foley Says
At least one industry analyst sees 2009 as shaping up to be one
of the most challenging years on record for new business jet
orders. "We could easily end the year with the industry as a
whole having more order cancellations than new ones" according to
Brian Foley Associates President Brian Foley.
The Air Transport Association of America (ATA), the industry
trade organization for the leading U.S. airlines, Wednesday
applauded the ASTM International Committee on Petroleum Products
and Lubricants for passing a new specification that will enable the
use of synthetic fuels in aviation.
Following the layoff of 23 other employees, Robert Myers, the
president of Daniel Webster College, was abruptly fired on
Wednesday. DWC owner ITT Technical Institute would not comment on
the move.
AgustaWestland AW139 Helicopter Serves As Test Platform
AgustaWestland says that the ENAC (Ente Nazionale Aviazione
Civile - Italian Civil Aviation Authority) last week successfully
completed the first stage of qualification and authorization tests
for the creation of a helicopter low altitude IFR route between
Turin and Venice in Italy.
"As a result, the identity of U.S. pilots will be
positively verified and crewmembers will be expedited through
security screening checkpoints."
