Final Assembly Of First South Carolina-Built 787 Dreamliner To
Begin Next Month
Despite the bizarre spectre of controversial issues with recent
decisions from the NLRB, elected officials and representatives from
numerous community and business groups, suppliers and
subcontractors joined more than 1,000 Boeing employees at its North
Charleston, S.C., facility, Friday, for a ribbon-cutting ceremony
to mark the opening of the new 787 Dreamliner Final Assembly

While a number of larger associations seem to be fumbling their

groups is not only on target but seems willing to look closely at

newly-formed ad-hoc AEA Strategic Outlook Committee met for the

The road to production of any new aircraft can be a tough one
and one of the few roadable aircraft prototypes to seek full
production is finding that out the hard way... Terrafugia,
developer of the Transition "Flying Car" has confirmed a
long-rumored delay to its projected delivery schedule. The delay
allegedly resulted from a combination of production design
challenges and problems with third party suppliers.

Girls With Wings, Inc. has announced their 5th Annual
Scholarship Program. The application packet requires an essay with
photo stating why the applicant believes she is a role model for
Girl With Wings, to include her motivation, inspirations and future
plans. Applicants must not have yet received a private pilot's
license but have completed her solo. Entries are to be received
between July 1st and July 31st, 2011.

Bill Peacher, Chief Executive Officer of NORDAM, announced this
week that he would step down from his current position at NORDAM's
mid-year board meeting. He plans to continue to serve on the
Company's Board and will act as a financial consultant to the
Company. "This is in accordance with NORDAM's long-term succession
plan to return the leadership of the Company to a member of the
Siegfried family," Peacher said.
"It remains our goal to show one of the two production
prototypes at EAA AirVenture in Oshkosh, WI this July, but the
vehicle will not be ready to fly at the show. This is similar to
the stage that the Proof of Concept (POC) vehicle was in at Oshkosh
2008 (i.e. mostly complete but untested). If we extrapolate from
our experience with the POC, the first test flights would be
expected in March of next year... To appropriately set expectations
and adjust our scheduling margins based on recent experience with
suppliers and other key third party contributors, we feel it is
necessary to extend our anticipated first delivery date to late
2012..."
