Archer Aviation announced the completion of phase one in its acquisition process, putting them on track to have their own playground in Hawthorne Airport of California. They are going for the master lease from the City of Hawthorne along with the associated subleases, which will grant control of the real estate of the airport complex. They plan to acquire the FBO and passenger terminal in 2026 as part of phase 2 of the transaction. Once complete, that will grant full control. 

Whole Family of NA Engines Now Mates Up to Most of Sonex Lineup

Cooper Aircraft Corporation has expanded support for Rotax installations with a new mount for naturally aspirated engines. The new mounts cover the Highwing, Legacy, B Model, Onex, Sonex, Waiex, and Xenos. The mounts are delivered in white, and will mount up the Rotax 912UL, 912ULS, 912iS, 914UL, 915iS and 916iS. Currently, the team is working on turbocharged Rotax installations, but that will come later on once the creases are all ironed out.

Reliable Robotics snagged a new contract with NASA’s Aeronautics Research Mission Directorate (ARMD) to take on demo flights with their automated C-208B Caravan. Reliable’s flight tests have already been gathering plenty of data for their own internal purposes, but now that data can be put to work at even higher level. Flight testing their contingency management procedures falls right in line with the push for improved handling for uncrewed aircraft. The FAA’s push to create better UAS-compatible ATC systems will benefit greatly from Reliable’s data, since they’re using a certificated aircraft design already in use in the real world. 600 Business Jets to Receive the Connectivity Service By the End of 2026

NetJets is joining the ever-growing number of operators turning to low-Earth-orbit internet, announcing that it will equip 600 aircraft with Starlink connectivity under a new agreement with SpaceX. Installations start almost immediately and are expected to run through the end of 2026, marking one of the largest business-aviation rollouts of the service to date.
