'There Was Only One Bob Hoover' - Sporty's Foundation Supports Memorial Program

Sporty's Foundation Takes The Lead in Providing Support For Friday's Bob Hoover Memorial Programming

It's been a brutal few days... as we work to accomplish in days what we usually prepare for in months. But... the world deserves a chance to share in the Bob Hoover Celebration of Life--even if they could not make it to California, themselves. So we dropped everything and got to work... but it could not, would not, have happened without a little (OK, a LOT of) help from our friends... who you'll hear all about over the next few days.

Chief amongst those who stepped up and provided tremendous aid, support, and advice are Hal Shevers and the folks of the Sporty's Foundation. Hal stepped up with the support of the Sporty's Foundation as soon as he heard about the Live Streaming plans...

Why?

Because, as he noted, "There was only one Bob Hoover..."

We really appreciate this --especially coming from Sporty's -- You only have to say the word, Sporty’s, and everyone in aviation knows what you’re talking about. It’s the catalog that makes you want to pick up the phone and say, ‘I’ll take one of each!”

But there’s so much more to the story, because behind the famous aviation product supply house is the Sporty’s Foundation, itself.

The Sporty’s Foundation mission is to ensure a healthy general aviation community for the next generation. That means working with young people to create opportunities to learn about airplanes, expose them to aviation environments and provide opportunities for them to experience flight firsthand. The foundation provides a team the next generation of pilots can depend on.

Of course, no effort in aviation is effective without safety as its base, so The Sporty’s Foundation concerns itself with programs that educate and inform pilots how to make flying safer.

With the future of general aviation in mind, The Sporty’s Foundation will fund aviation education and safety programs with an emphasis on attracting and retaining young people as part of the aviation community.

Today, we thank the Sporty’s Foundation for making the point that remembering the past can open up a path to the future. In honoring our friend, Bob Hoover, their support keeps alive the character of the man whose has shaped and formed aviation, and opened up the future for our young people. It's a truly fine organization outshone only by the people that make it happen.

Our Livestreaming programming starts November 18th at 1300 Pacific Time and should be complete about 1600 Pacific. You can access it at www.letbobfly.net/live
