ASA Releases Dictionary Of Aeronautical Terms

New Eighth Edition!

Aviation Supplies & Academics, Inc. (ASA) announced the release of the Dictionary of Aeronautical Terms, Eighth Edition. This is the ultimate reference book that contains more than 13,000 accurate, aviation-specific definitions and acronyms.

The Eighth Edition of DAT gathers all of the terms used in the Federal Aviation Regulations (Title 14 CFR) or FARs. It also contains terms from the glossaries from FAA handbooks, advisory circulars, the Aeronautical Information Manual or AIM, and the Pilot/Controller Glossary as well as definitions not found in government publications.

The book contains almost 500 illustrations that further define and help in visual recognition of the terms. The appendices include a useful list of 2,500 aviation acronyms and abbreviations, the phonetic alphabet, and other very useful resources.

In an industry that is replete with acronyms, technical language, and jargon, this comprehensive dictionary will serve as an essential reference book for anyone involved with aviation and space organizations, including administrators, pilots, instructors, aircraft maintenance technicians, drone operators, colleges and universities, flight schools, air traffic controllers, manufacturers, engineers, government agencies, airlines, and corporate flight departments.

It also serves as a useful reference for newcomers to the industry or work in aviation-related businesses like finance or insurance. It will prove beneficial to those who speak English as a second language.

ASA’s Dictionary of Aeronautical Terms is an indispensable reference tool that belongs on every aviation bookshelf.

It will be shipping in NOVEMBER and is available in Softcover, 736 pages, and is available on the ASA website. The softcover, eBook, and PDF versions are all available for $36.95.
