Patty Wagstaff Launches Another Online Course with Sporty's

Tailwheel Students Gain Easy Introduction to Taildraggers

Sporty's has addressed the needs of backcountry pilots-to-be with its new tailwheel course, made in combination with legendary airshow pro Patty Wagstaff. Tailwheels have grown in popularity in recent years, bolstered by a field of new LSA developments and options unseen in traditional tricycle gear aircraft.

The course, filmed in complete 4K resolution, showcases a number of popular taildraggers, featuring a Citabria, Super Decathlon, Extra 300, Piper Super Cub, and a Cessna 180. Multiple camera angles and 3D renders help to catch every vital detail of maneuvers for optimum understanding. Students should find the series helpful as they make make the transition, with comprehensive teaching on topics like ground loops and P-factor. Students will see the course cover both theory and practical training that goes over all the essentials of their new aircraft and then some, with an "advanced tailwheel section" where pilots will see slips, flaps, perfect soft field technique, and bush pilot skills honed in the wilds of Alaska.

“We are thrilled to partner with Patty Wagstaff on another new course,” said Sporty’s Academy President Eric Radtke. “She combines deep expertise and a fun approach to flying, making her the perfect guide for anyone exploring the world of tailwheel airplanes.”

“Learning to fly a taildragger is one of the best ways to improve your flying skills,” said Wagstaff. “With this new course, pilots will learn both the theory and practical knowledge they need to earn the endorsement and unlock the full potential of these amazing airplanes.”

Sporty's has revamped their content delivery with their newest additions to their curriculum, allowing for online, iOS, and Android functionality with full progress sync and offline downloads. For those devoted to smart TV content consumption, Sporty's obliges, as well as Apple CarPlay. The course includes free lifetime access and updates, available for an introductory price now.
