EHang Lays Groundwork for AAM Domination in Malaysia

Joins Hands With Local Defense and Aero Contractor to Jump Start AAM In-Country

EHang has entered into a strategic partnership with Malaysian aviation company Aerotree Flight Services, kickstarting their AAM efforts to be ready for the impending eVTOL revolution.

The deal will see the pair jointly develop urban air mobility businesses, laying the groundwork needed to operate a fleet of sustainable electric aircraft, from operations to MRO training in Malaysia. To build their AAM fleet, Aerotree has placed an order for 50 EHang EH216 aircraft, including EH216-S1, EH216-L, and EH216-F. In addition, they have placed an order for 10 units of the longer-range EHang VT-30. The group seems to approve of their first EH216 purchase, and have had a chance to shake it out and judge its performance for themselves.

The deal will give Aerotree a jumpstart in the sustainable AAM market in Malaysia, according to Dato’ Halim Bin Othman, managing director of Aerotree Group. “We are very excited about our strategic partnership with EHang to introduce the world’s leading safe, sustainable and autonomous aerial vehicles to the Malaysian market," said Othman. "Leveraging our full spectrum of capabilities and partnerships that span from MRO to training, we eagerly anticipate using EHang AAVs for Malaysia’s UAM projects and civil aviation.”

“We are pleased to enter the Malaysian market and increase our presence there through our cooperation with Aerotree," said Huazhi Hu, EHang CEO. "Our comprehensive AAV products and solutions are well suited to a variety of intracity and intercity UAM use cases in Malaysia, such as passenger transportation, aerial sightseeing, aerial firefighting and aerial logistics. The rising demand and pre-orders for a large number of our passenger-grade AAVs from Japan and Malaysia will unleash great market potential for EHang in Asia.”
