Textron Opts for UA's KAPTURE CVR Suite on Future Citations

Top-of-the-Line Cessna Jets Gain Improved Voice and Data Recording

Cessna Citations will soon come from the factory with Universal Avionics (of Elbit Systems) KAPTURE Cockpit Voice and Flight Data Recorders, with plans to equip them across the Longitude, Latitude, Ascend, and CJ4 Gen 2.

Aircraft operators like ease when working with their data, and Textron believes that to be the forte of the recently released KAPTURE line. Textron cites their "compliance with the latest regulations, the ease with which data can be retrieved and analyzed, and their advanced data storage capabilities" as reason enough to equip them on all the most premium Cessna aircraft. KAPTURE systems go above and beyond the mandated data storage requirements (25 hours of voice and data), with the ability to retrieve and analyze data using Universal Avionics' cloud-based data collection for Flight Data Monitoring, analysis, animation, and reporting tools for individual aircraft. For those running a whole fleet, the system can aggregate and sort from the bunch, allowing for top-down analysis and decision making.

The KAPTURE line features a 90-day Underwater Locator Beacon and internal recorder independent power supply, keeping it on task even when things go seriously awry. The CVR and CVFDR models grant more than 25 hours of non-audio recording, including UTC, rotor speed, data link messaging, and such. The FDR gives operators more than 90 hours of recording for ARINC 717 data and at least 25 hours of ARINC 429 data, adding some extra integration possibilities for those who can work in those standards. The units are MOPS ED-112A compliant, allowing it to fly in any airspace around the world.

"This contract showcases the trust aircraft owners and manufacturers place in KAPTURE to meet evolving regulatory requirements and enhance data collection," said Dror Yahav, Chief Executive Officer at Universal Avionics. "The KAPTURE system's compliance with the latest mandates combined with its robust features and data analysis capabilities make it a compelling choice for discerning operators."
