Sonex Aircraft, LLC Sells 1,000th Sonex Plans Set

Sonex Aircraft, LLC tells ANN that they have completed the sale of Sonex Plans Serial Number 1,000, marking a significant milestone for the young kit aircraft company. Rick Cavett of Ridgeland, Mississippi recently purchased a Sonex Complete Airframe Kit and was issued Plans number 1,000. Cavett is an instrument-rated private pilot with over 250 hours of flight time. The Sonex will be his first homebuilt aircraft project and he chose the Sonex, instead of plans-building a competitor’s aircraft, because of the ease of building offered by the Sonex Complete Airframe Kit plus the lower cost compared to other kits of comparable performance.

“Congratulations to Rick for being a part of this milestone and for purchasing one of the most popular kit aircraft available in the market today,” said Sonex Aircraft, LLC General Manager and CEO Jeremy Monnett. “We attribute all of the rapidly expanding Sonex, Waiex, and Xenos success to some simple criteria: The Best Performance Per Dollar, the best and most complete set of plans in the industry, outstanding customer support by phone, fax, or e-mail, and a strong builder network that is extremely enthusiastic about the airplane. We’ve always said an aircraft project can only be completed if you’re in love with it and our builders definitely love their airplanes! More builders and pilots are discovering the Sonex, Waiex, and Xenos every day and we look forward to working with every one of them to build their dream. Thanks again to all of our customers, suppliers, employees, friends, and family who continue to make Sonex Aircraft one of the most successful businesses in the sport aviation industry.”

Sonex Aircraft, LLC began selling plans for its all-metal, low-wing Sonex sport plane in 1998. The aircraft was originally only available as a plans-built project, however, Sonex Aircraft quickly began selling component part kits. The kits have evolved over the past eight years into the Complete Airframe Kit, which includes virtually all of the material necessary to build the aircraft, mostly in the form of pre-fabricated parts. In 2004, Sonex Aircraft expanded its product line with the Waiex sport plane and Xenos sport motorglider Complete Airframe Kits. As of this writing, there are 133 Sonex Aircraft flying, with new completions being reported every month, and there is a grass-roots movement of Sonex builder gatherings and clubs emerging around the globe.

Sonex Aircraft, LLC offers a series of Sport Pilot eligible kit aircraft along with the AeroConversions line of products which include the AeroVee engine, AeroCarb and ancillary aviation products.

Sonex Aircraft’s Sonex and Waiex sport planes, and the Xenos sport motorglider offer outstanding performance in an easy to build, easy to fly kit package that can be purchased and completed with full technical support at an unrivaled price. Sonex and AeroConversions continue to invest heavily in developing new products.
