Improve Your Flight: Sleep Through It

All Nippon Airways Installs Beds

Passengers on ANA will be able to stretch out and relax in the New Style Club ANA business class seat-bed featuring 65 inches of legroom and full recline, starting May 4, on daily non-stop Boeing 747-400 flights between New York (JFK) and Tokyo.

ANA created New Style Club ANA after conducting surveys of 5,000 of its top-tier frequent flyers. The survey results revealed that customers most want flexible service in a relaxing and stress-free environment, which led to the development of seats and a service concept reflecting those desires.

New Style Club ANA service includes:

  • "Easy Sleeper Seat" with pitch of 65 inches and 170-degree recline
  • Nine-inch monitor and digital AVOD (audio-video on demand) with 58 channels
  • Noise-reducing headphones
  • New menu with on-demand meal service
  • Down-filled duvet and large pillow
  • PC compatible power point in each seat
  • Completely redesigned Bar Corner
  • Available on 75 seats on the main and upper decks of Boeing 747-400s

Osamu Kawabata, Senior Vice President and General Manager, the Americas, said, "New Style Club ANA replaces ANA Super Style service on New York flights, which features a bar counter with three eats, audio-video on demand (AVOD) at every seat, and a business corner on the upper deck with two desks, fax and telephones.

"That is a high level of service, but we think New Style Club ANA is even better. Passengers will be able to eat when they want, sleep when they want in a comfortable, flat seat, and enjoy music and videos they can start, pause and start again whenever they like."

Premium Economy service also will be introduced May 4 on JFK flights. The dedicated 24-seat cabin features three rows of seating in a 2-4-2 configuration, immediately behind Club ANA business class on the main deck of ANA's Boeing 747-400 aircraft.

Premium Economy seat pitch (38 inches) and width will be nearly 20% larger than in Economy Class, and every seat will have an adjustable headrest and leg rest, universal power port, individual video screen and fully digital AVOD (audio-video on demand) with 58 channels of entertainment.
