WingX Pro7 Adds Support For ADS-B Out And FAA-Certified GPS Data

Latest Version Of The Software Available For Download Now

The newest version of WingX Pro7, Version 7.1, supports the recently TSO’d NavWorx ADS600-B transceiver making WingX Pro7 the first major mobile aviation app to support ADS-B Out transceivers which the FAA has mandated for all airplanes by 2020, the company said in a news release Tuesday.

WingX Pro7 now also supports Guardian Avionics Aero 454, an FAA TSO certified remote mount device that receives GPS data from a wide range of FAA-certified equipment including the Garmin G1000, G900X, G600, and G500, GTN 750/650, GNS 530/480/430/400, as well as the KLN 89 and KLN 90B. In addition, route changes made on the panel-mounted system will automatically update the active route in WingX Pro7.

The FAA has mandated ADS-B Out in all U.S. aircraft by 2020. The NavWorx ADS600-B is a remote-mounted universal access transceiver that sends ADS-B Out information and receives ADS-B In information including ADS-B, ADS-R and TIS-B traffic and FIS-B weather. Airplanes equipped with ADS-B Out have superior situational awareness because they are able to receive more complete ADS-B traffic information.

“We are committed to providing pilots with the most advanced situational awareness technology has to offer coupled with the flexibility to choose the systems pilots prefer,” said Dr. Goldstein, founder of Hilton Software LLC. “That’s why we’re starting seven years ahead of schedule to give pilots the most complete traffic picture around them with ADS-B Out, as well as precise, FAA-certified GPS information displayed seamlessly on their moving map.”

"The NavWorx ADS600-B combined with an iPad is the most versatile ADS-B solution available today, delivering greater situational awareness to the pilot than ever before,” said Bill Moffitt, president of NavWorx. "WingX Pro7 brings it all together by adding comprehensive traffic and weather to the extremely popular WingX Pro7 moving map. Together, WingX Pro7 and NavWorx ADS600-B are revolutionizing cockpit display systems."

The NavWorx ADS600-B adds another excellent choice to the growing number of ADS-B receivers already supported by WingX Pro7, including those from Dual, Levil, Sagetech, Skyguard, Freeflight, Radenna, and Zaon, providing maximum flexibility to the pilot to choose the hardware they prefer in the cockpit.

Ash Vij, President of Guardian Avionics said, “We are very excited to have the opportunity to integrate our state of the art Bluetooth technology with WingX Pro7. Now when a pilot is flying the airplane with his or her Garmin GPS device and the Aero 454, WingX Pro7 will automatically display the GPS information in its powerful moving map. Route changes on the Garmin will be seamlessly shown in WingX Pro7.”

WingX Pro7 is available immediately for download in the Apple App Store and is a free update for existing customers.
