Airline Looks For The Follicly-Challenged

Attention, Bald Men (AND Women) Who Need Cash

At long last, there appears to be at least one advantage to losing your hair.

The Associated Press reports Air New Zealand is offering to pay the follicly-challenged to wear a temporary tattoo on the back of your head, and stand around in lines at three airports, advertising a new system designed to reduce check-in waiting times.

The fake tattoos last about two weeks, after which they fade away or can be washed off. For your trouble, the airline will pay you the equivalent of about $660 US for your time.

Perhaps sensitive to equal opportunity rules, the carrier notes people who are willing to shave their heads may also apply... though Air New Zealand marketing manager Steve Bayliss told National Radio on Wednesday, "It will be an advantage for them to be bald already."

Bayliss adds he won't be taking advantage of the offer himself, because he's "doing OK" hair-wise. One would also hope his job pays more than $330 a week.

And, before you say anything about the injustice of yet another job for men only... Air New Zealand has said nothing of the sort. Apparently, the ladies are welcome, too.
