Collins, Thomas Partner On Pro Line 4 EFD Maintenance

LCD Displays Available To Replace Legacy CRTs

Collins Aerospace and Thomas Global Systems announced a strategic partnership to deliver product support for the Collins Pro Line 4 Electronic Flight Displays to ensure continuing reliability and service for customers around the world.

Under the agreement, Collins is transferring the maintenance and repair support of its EFD-4076 and EFD-4077 cathode ray tube displays to Thomas Global, whose TFD-4000 and TFD-4100 replacement liquid crystal displays, or LCDs, will be made available to Collins customers to address both the obsolescence of the CRT displays and also provide weight reduction and improved reliability.

The partnership allows Collins to work with its customers on other upgrades while also providing a way for Pro Line 4 operators an option for continuing legacy EFD support.

Angus Hutchinson, CEO of Thomas Global Systems said, “We are pleased to be working together with Collins to provide dependable long-term support for these Pro Line 4 display products. This collaboration reflects our commitment to extending the life of legacy avionics systems and delivering exceptional service.”

Collins Pro Line 4 legacy avionics with the EFDs are installed on multiple aircraft models including the MHIRJ CRJ Series regional jets, Saab 2000 regional turboprops, and several business jet models such as the Bombardier Challenger 604, Gulfstream G100/G200, Dassault Falcon 2000/2000EX/50EX.

Thomas developed and received certification for the TFD-4000 and TFD-4100 upgrades as LCD replacement displays for the EFD-4076 and EFD-4077, respectively.
