Ceremony Set For Tuesday July 27th 1000CT at Theater In The Woods

Able Flight’s “Class of 2021” will be honored at a pilot wings pinning ceremony at EAA AirVenture on Tuesday, July 27th at 10:00 AM at Theater In The Woods.

Six scholarship recipients earned their pilot certificates in the program this year, and all will be on stage to receive their pilot wings. This year’s pilots are T’angelo Magee, Michael Price, Peyton Wolter, David Snypes, Jr. and Sheila Xu. They include a veteran wounded in combat, two veterans who became disabled through accidents, a woman who is deaf, and two new pilots who use wheelchairs due to injuries from accidents.

The pilots will also be honored individually at the ceremony as recipients of scholarships provided by ForeFlight, Tempest Plus, Embraer, Muncie Aviation and Lockheed Martin.

2021 marks the eleventh year of Able Flight’s training partnership with Purdue University. Now in its 15th year of providing full-ride flight training scholarships and aviation career training scholarships, Able Flight has 77 licensed pilots, including several who have earned multiple pilot certificates.

Special guests will include Aviation Hall of Fame inductee Patty Wagstaff and representatives of sponsors/supporters of the program.
