TSA Agent Admits That Safety Was Not The Reason She Was Barred From Flying

A woman who refused to allow TSA to test a bottle of water she had bought after clearing security at a Houston airport was not allowed to board her flight, and a TSA agent's admission that the reason she was refused boarding was because of her "attitude" was captured on a video.

The incident, relayed by the blog Alex Jones Infowars, is an example of a recent and some say controversial TSA policy of random checks of liquids held by passengers in the secure area of an airport. On the video, which the woman posted on YouTube, the agent is asked if refusing to allow her to fly is "for my attitude, this is not making the airways safer ... it's retaliatory." The agent responds "It pretty much definitely is." He then says the practice is legal.

It is not the first time TSA has put the practice, which on its blog it says is "business as usual," into play. Another video highlighted by the Infowars blog shows TSA screeners testing drinks at Columbus International Airport in the departure lounge. On its blog, TSA said that the practice is "nothing new. Liquid screening at gates is random and it isn't happening at every airport every day."

The UK newspaper The Mail reports that the woman with attitude was allowed to board a later flight out of Houston, and United Airlines provided her with a complimentary upgrade.
