HBC Global Customer Support Taking Orders For Pro Line 21 Synth Vis Upgrade

Entry Into Service For King Air 200/300 Series Expected Next March

Hawker Beechcraft Global Customer Support (GCS) is accepting orders for the Synthetic Vision System (SVS) upgrade for all Pro Line 21-equipped Beechcraft King Air 200/300 series aircraft. The upgrade for this platform is scheduled for entry into service in March 2013.

Hawker Beechcraft and Rockwell Collins entered into an agreement last year that will provide all Hawker and Beechcraft models with the upgrade package, which offers significant safety and capability improvements by adding synthetic vision data to existing Pro Line 21 displays. Follow-on certifications for the remainder of the platforms are expected to occur throughout 2013.

“Synthetic vision is a significant safety upgrade that provides a clear vision forward for flight crews in all weather conditions, underscoring our commitment to increasing customer safety and expanding operational capability,” said Christi Tannahill, Hawker Beechcraft senior vice president, Global Customer Support.
Rockwell Collins SVS provides real-time 3-D simulated terrain presentation in relation to the aircraft superimposed on the primary flight displays, providing the flight crew with a clear day image in all weather conditions.

The upgrade includes an update to configurable displays that support new features in addition to SVS, including Integrated Flight Information Systems, an Enhanced Vision System video window on multi-function displays and wall-to-wall Attitude Direction Indicator displays.
