Mid-Continent Instruments — Pilot Tested. Mission
Proven.
Mid-Continent Instruments is an industry leader in the
overhaul/exchange, repair, design and manufacture of aircraft
instruments, avionics and emergency power supplies for OEM forward
fit and aftermarket installations.
With facilities in Wichita, Kansas and Van Nuys, California,
Mid-Continent Instruments serves customers worldwide.
Introducing True Blue Power™ — Mid-Continent
Instruments is proud to unveil its new line of inverters, batteries
and emergency power supplies. True Blue Power products combine
revolutionary technology with the superior quality, ingenuity and
decades of experience that customers have come to expect from
Mid-Continent Instruments.
The True Blue Power MD835 Emergency Power Supply features A123
lithium-ion nanophosphate technology. Friendly Lithium™ cell
chemistry allows the MD835 to be 63% lighter than lead-acid designs
with an improved 10-year life expectancy, resulting in a lower cost
of ownership. The MD835 is the first lithium-powered EPS to be FAA
TSO approved and AML STC certified.
The True Blue Power MD50 DC-to-AC Static Inverter produces 115
volts at 60 Hz for 500 watts of “wall outlet” power
from an aircraft’s 28 VDC input. 30% smaller and lighter than
traditional inverters, the MD50 has the same connector and
footprint of legacy designs, plus overload and short-circuit
protection up to 150 percent of the rated load.
Mid-Continent Instruments’ MD15 is a two-inch,
three-pointer altimeter offered in 20,000-ft. and 35,000-ft.
versions. Options include a barometric scale in inches of mercury
or millibars and a left- or right-hand baro set knob. FAA TSO-C10b
certified.
Mid-Continent Instruments’ MD25 two-inch airspeed
indicator is offered in multiple ranges: 160, 200, 260, 300, 350
and 400 knot. Range markings can be added to meet specific aircraft
requirements. FAA TSO-C2d certified for fixed-wing or rotorcraft
operation.
Mid-Continent Instruments is now an authorized repair and
warranty repair station for Kannad ELTs (Emergency Locator
Transmitters). Mid-Continent Instruments has been selected as
Kannad’s mid-western factory-authorized warranty repair
center for standard and compact 121.5 MHz and 406 MHz digital
emergency locator transmitters. Send us your Kannad ELT repairs and
warranty repairs!
Mid-Continent Instruments is aggressively growing its avionics
repair capabilities and offering factory-level support on
Bendix/King radars — the receiver and transmitter in the RDR
2000 and RDR 2100 digital weather radar systems (the ART 2000 and
ART 2100). The company’s advanced environmental chamber can
test the ART 2000/2100 to temperatures between -55˚C and
+77˚C. Mid-Continent’s vacuum chamber tests radars at
altitude ranges between -1,000 feet and 55,000 feet, minimizing the
risk of RF arcing. Typical testing performed without a vacuum
chamber cannot detect the RF arcing that can occur at higher
altitudes.
