Boeing and the Government of Iraq announced Monday an order for 30 Boeing 737-800s, the first step in re-establishing the war-torn country's scheduled commercial aviation operations. As part of the deal, Boeing will also offer advice and expertise in areas such as the planning and development of airport infrastructure throughout Iraq; helping train aviation sector personnel; aiding in the selection and acquisition of airline support equipment; and arranging for cost-effective maintenance and service solutions for used aircraft obtained prior to new airplane deliveries.
