RT Aviation Showcases Updated L600 Design at MVN Expo

Model Conducive To Incorporation With Flight Schools

The latest version of Aeropilot’s L600 was a focal point of RT Aviation’s display at the 2024 Midwest Aviation Expo. Test flights in the aircraft were offered throughout the weekend in Mount Vernon, Illinois.

The light-sport Legend 600 is an all-composite, high-wing, strut-braced two-seater. Its empty weight is a mere 739 lbs, though it still produces impressive performance and easy handling with a climb rate of 1378 fpm and 108kt cruise speed. The power plant design is customized to user preference, with 4 engine and 8 propeller types to choose from.

There are 19 currently operating in the U.S. and three more are on the way.

RT Aviation, the L600’s exclusive dealer, had several variations of the aircraft on display at the expo. The latest model on-site had only cosmetic differences from the 2018 version, including a shiny new paint job and redone window insets. This change was made after noticing cracks and flexing on the exterior from the previous bonding technique used.

The company aims to break the current trainer aircraft trend with the L600. The new variation will be immediately departing from the expo to its permanent home in Arizona. There, it will get a chance to build its flight school reputation as a part of Av8r Unlimited’s fleet.

“The goal, ultimately, is to get them in the flight schools. You have to start with one, and prove it holds up,” stated Todd Livingston, a partner in RT Aviation’s Sales and Marketing division.

Getting a chance to fly the aircraft at MVN made it clear why this goal was made. It’s powerful, durable, and an overall enjoyable ride.
