Bolen: Business Aviation Fact Book Underscores Biz-Av Relevance

The NBAA has released its 2010 Business Aviation Fact Book, a comprehensive profile of the industry that provides real-world information and data about its value to citizens, companies and communities across the country. "With this publication, we are putting a resource in people's hands that presents the true face of business aviation with simple but powerful facts," said NBAA President and CEO Ed Bolen. "We are confident that this product will help those in our industry underscore the essential role of business aviation in the nation's economy and transportation system."

NBAA's Business Aviation Fact Book notes on the first page that business aviation contributes $150 billion to U.S. economic output and generates over a million jobs. Presented in charts, tables and brief descriptions, the data in the Fact Book is gathered from respected sources including the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the Department of Commerce and surveys of companies in the industry.

Also included in this all-new edition are a number of NBAA Member Company profiles describing the types of companies and professionals that use business aircraft. The Business Aviation Fact Book notes that most organizations using business aircraft are small and mid-size companies, as well as universities, governments and charitable organizations.

For the first time, the 2010 Fact Book features new section's presenting the industry's record on safety, security and environmental stewardship. The Fact Book also reports on the thousands of air ambulance and mercy flights flown by business aircraft each year, as well as the hundreds of relief missions flown in response to natural disasters, such as this year's devastating earthquake in Haiti.

With full-color layouts and links to information referenced in the publication, the 2010 Business Aviation Fact Book makes a clear and thorough presentation of the broad scope and value of the business aviation industry.
