Swiss Space Systems CEO Critically Injured In Attack

No Suspects Have Been Identified In The Case

The CEO Swiss Space Systems was critically injured in a deliberate attack last month which left him hospitalized with severe burns.

The website thelocal.ch reports that 40-year-old Pascal Jaussi was forced to drive his car into a wooded area where he was beaten, doused in gasoline and set on fire. He managed to get out of his car and call friends, who alerted emergency services.

The company is working to develop reusable launch technology for satellites, which the website reports is not universally popular in the industry. Last year, the company was broken into and equipment was damaged, according to the Swiss newspaper Tribune de Genève on Monday.

News of the attack on Jaussi was not reported until his condition improved. While his condition is still serious and he remains in the hospital, he is expected to survive.

Jaussi had reportedly been in touch with authorities in recent months after being threatened over his company's work.
