Sensenich Propellers Updates Prop Line-Up

Carbon Composites Leading The Product Line

By: Gene Yarbrough

Senenich propellers unveiled their newest offering targeted at VW derivative powerplants. Don Rowell, Sensenich General Manager, showed off the company’s newest propeller, the 2A2V5L56F model intended for up to 100hp and 170mph operation.

The propeller (pictured) is entirely carbon fiber, except the hub, and is constructed using high pressure bladder mold technology. The blades are hollow core for weight and moment of inertia savings and feature a bonded stainless leading edge for chip resistance.

The new propeller is ground adjustable with a pitch index system. Blade angle is set by inserting a pitch pin into the propeller hub and rotating the propeller blade until an integral pin in the blade root touches the pitch pin. There are several pitch pin adjustments available and the company can custom install the pitch control pins in each blade to tailor the propeller adjustment to individual customer’s needs.

This propeller is now in ASTM certification process and should be available shortly for LSA use, but is immediately available for experimental applications. Pricing is set at $1,755.
