“We commend Chairman John Thune (R-SD) and Ranking Member Bill Nelson (D-FL) for reaching out to members of the general aviation community during the drafting process so that the committee could better understand the implications of proposed policies to our industry. The Committee has shown itself to be defenders of General Aviation (GA) with their vote against ATC privatization. While HAI fully supports the advancement of technology in the form of NextGen, we do not believe there is a need to fundamentally change the structure of air traffic control. Put simply, the United States has the safest, most efficient system in the world; what are we trying to fix?"
