Flightstar Breaks Ground On Maintenance Hangar Project

New Facility Expected To Open In Late Fall 2016

Flightstar Corporation announces the expansion of their facility as they break ground on a new aircraft hangar. The state of the art 31,000-sq-ft airline maintenance hangar is expected to be completed by late fall of 2016.

Equipped with a 135-foot wide by 34-foot tall Mega Door System, this facility utilizes radiant floor heat, overhead circulation fans, and LED lighting to create optimal working conditions during maintenance operations. Nested between existing hangars, the new facility allows for unobstructed access with an adjoining 21,000 square foot hangar. The existing hangar retains its once 140’ wide exterior doors, creating an optional segregation of space allowing for the control of heat, noise, and/or wind. The now combined facility will boast over 52,000-sq-ft of total floor space, bringing Flightstar’s total hangar square footage to over 112,000.

Flightstar currently performs overnight maintenance on American Eagle/Envoy Airlines fleet of Embraer 140 and 145 regional jets. Anticipating the needs of their customer, Flightstar has initiated this recent expansion as Envoy Airlines begins its transition to the considerably larger Embraer 170 and 175 aircraft.

“Flightstar has long adapted to meet the needs of our clients, this expansion allows Envoy and Flightstar to continue as partners into the future” stated Flightstar President, Bill Giannetti.  “We have been in business with American Eagle/Envoy for over 30 years. This project is the next step, showing our continued commitment to this company and our community.”
