NBAA Announces Business Aircraft Scheduler Certificate Program

To Dispatch with Dispatch

For purpose of assisting aircraft schedulers seeking career advancement, NBAA announced that it will offer a new Business Aircraft Scheduler Certificate Program prior to the organization’s 2023 NBAA Schedulers & Dispatchers Conference (SDC2023) to be held at Nashville, Tennessee’s Music City Center between 24 and 26 January.

NBAA director of certification Tyler Austin remarked: “NBAA strives to provide valuable learning opportunities for its members from all sectors of business aviation, and this latest credential will allow schedulers and others in the flight department to affirm they are among the best in the industry.” Mr. Austin added: This program is ideal for flight department personnel who have been assigned aircraft scheduling responsibilities or professionals looking to work in business aviation operations.”

Developed in collaboration with Part 91 scheduler subject matter experts and Universal Weather and Aviation, Inc., the NBAA’s assessment-based certificate program will provide participants a comprehensive introductory to mid-level training on the duties of a business aircraft scheduler. The program includes nine asynchronous learning modules addressing key areas of aircraft scheduling. Subject modules comprise:

  • Business Aviation Basics
  • Mission Control
  • Global Regulations
  • Technology
  • Crew Scheduling
  • Safety & Security
  • Finance, Legal & Tax Responsibilities
  • Pre-trip Logistics
  • Real-time Trip Support

Successful program participants will receive a certificate and a digital badge evincing their newly-acquired knowledge. The Business Aircraft Scheduler Certificate is approved, also, for NBAA Certified Aviation Manager program (CAM) credit. Individuals who complete the course and pass the final assessment will be awarded four points toward their CAM application or CAM recertification.

Founded in 1947 and based in Washington, DC, the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to the collection, interpretation, and dissemination of operational and managerial data germane to the safe, efficient, and cost-effective utilization of business aircraft. The association’s stated mission is “to foster an environment that allows business aviation to thrive in the United States and around the world.”
