Coming Soon: A Way to 'Bypass The Airline Mess' In Northeast US

Hopscotch Air To Debut SR22 'Air Limo' Service

A new air taxi provider plans to soon offer customers in the northeastern US a way to, in the words of company representatives, "bypass the airline mess."

As soon as Spring 2008, travelers will be introduced to the luxury and convenience of private air charter at prices competitive with the airlines. Fliers will be able to experience some of the true benefits of general aviation -- the freedom to travel, and leave behind over-crowded airports and the frustrating delays of the airlines.

Hopscotch Air, which has applied for government certification, plans to debut its “air limo” service, which will allow travelers to fly at their convenience and on their schedule.

Using a fleet of Cirrus SR22s, Hopscotch plans to fly customers to hundreds of airports within 500 miles of New York metro airports in Westchester, Long Island, New Jersey, and Connecticut. While the company may access any airport used by the airlines, representatives note many lightly-used airports are closer to people’s homes and destinations.

Hopscotch Air will fly on demand: passengers leave when they want to, go where they want to, and come home when they want to.

And, unlike traditional charter service, Hopscotch Air is competitively priced to the airlines. Two people can fly from New York to Boston for less than a walk-up ticket on the Delta or US Airways Shuttle, according to the company.
