Certified USB Charging Port Added To Stratus Product Line

Stratus Power Is TSO-Certified And Now Shipping

Stratus Power, a new TSO-certified dual USB Standard-A charging port, was introduced Monday at the Aircraft Electronics Association (AEA) Convention. At the list price of $349, Stratus Power is the industry’s most affordable certified USB-A charging port.

Like all Stratus products from Appareo, Stratus Power was designed for quick and easy installation. With its cylindrical shape, installers simply use a drill with a common step bit. “Our goal with Stratus Power was to provide the best-value charging port with the minimal amount of installation time,” said Derek Aslakson, aviation product manager.

As more pilots choose to fly with portable devices such as tablets and smart phones, there is an increased demand for the convenience of having a USB power source in the panel. Appareo, makers of Stratus ADS-B receivers and the Stratus ESG certified transponder, endeavored to design a USB charging port that would give pilots the high-quality engineering that’s expected with the Stratus name, but at a price lower than any other certified charging port.

“While our ADS-B products were developed specifically with non-glass panel aircraft in mind, the newest addition to the Stratus family was designed to be a great fit for all types of aircraft,” Aslakson said.

Product Features:

  • Two 2.1 amp USB-A charging ports
  • 2.56 oz, 1.848” w x 1.848” h x 1.391” d (depth includes mating connector)
  • Cylindrical shape for easy, drill-in panel installation
  • FAA certified to TSO-C71
  • Designed and built in the USA
  • Two-year warranty backed by Appareo
