Boeing Woos Poland With Chinook For Heavy Transport

CH-47F Block II Modernizes And Increases Lift Capability For Polish Armed Forces

At the International Defence Industry Exhibition in Kielce, Poland, Boeing made a pitch to Poland offering its CH-47F Block II heavy-lift helicopter.

The CH_47F Block II is the newest and modernized version of the Chinook with upgraded systems and improved lift and range. It builds on the already proven capabilities of the legacy Chinook and offers an upgraded platform for today’s needs and a strong base for affordable future upgrades.

Poland has just recently acquired 96 of Boeing’s AH-64E Apache combat helicopters to boost its military capabilities and stimulate its defense economy.

Tim Flood, Boeing’s senior director of International Business Development for Europe and Americas said, “The Chinook has been a key part of the European defense and humanitarian relief missions for more than five decades and would enhance Poland’s cooperation with allied forces, and support the country’s defense needs. In addition, the Chinook would deliver additional benefits to Poland through job creation, economic growth and greater autonomy for the Polish defense industry.”

Adam Hodges, Business Development for Vertical Lift Programs said, “Operating the Chinook in tandem with the newly acquired Apaches will serve as a force multiplier for the Polish Armed Forces due to their complementary capabilities. The combination of the Apache and Chinook helicopters provides greater operational effectiveness and the ability to conduct a wider range of missions.”
