S-TEC Receives FAA Approval For MAGIC Installation In King Air E90s

Representatives with S-TEC tell Aero-News that -- thanks to FAA approval for the installation of the company's MAGIC EFIS and MAGIC 2100 DFCS -- flying the King Air E90 just got a little easier.

The FAA approval to install S-TEC's electronic flight instrument system (EFIS), and the MAGIC 2100 digital flight control system (DFCS) gives King Air E90 operators an opportunity to replace their aging flight control systems, and upgrade their panel to a modern glass cockpit.

"For safety purposes it’s imperative to have the latest technology available. Now King Air E90 operators do," said S-TEC Director of Sales Greg Plantz. "Heavy pilot workload is always a concern, but together this flight control system and glass cockpit pays major dividends because of reduced workload. The result is a safer, more aware and
capable pilot."

The EFIS and DFCS provide a functional, digital, electronic instrument panel contained in a set of LCD 4.5-inch by 5.6-inch flat-panels. The MAGIC 2100 DFCS is a three axis, fully digital, attitude based Flight Control System that brings jet functionality to the twin turboprop market. The LCD has an Integrated Altitude Pre-Selector and Indicated Air Speed Hold for excellent flight control in all conditions, enhancing situational awareness.
