Former CAP Commander Disparages White Male Pilots

Wokeism's New Face

Former Civil Air Patrol (CAP) commander Colonel Mark “Woot” Wooten has made public his opinion that CAP officials ought eschew hiring white, male pilots possessed of expertise and experience and, instead, embrace "diversity and being inclusive.”

In a social-media video since gone viral, Wooten—a middle-aged white male who commanded CAP-USAF from April 2019 until April 2022—suggested his successors refrain from hiring "middle-aged" white "dudes" insomuch as "we all think alike."

Speaking, ostensibly, to a social-media audience, Wooten continued: "The only real guidance I could put out there for them to consider is stop hiring middle-aged white people, especially dudes that are pilots, because, honestly, we all think alike too much."

By way of syllogism, Wooten set forth uniformity of thought is a defining characteristic of white men between the ages of forty and sixty-years, and “diversity” of thought is apparently the exclusive province of nonwhites and women.

Wooten proceeded, alleging America’s strength lies solely in diversity, and American institutions, to their detriment, have historically excluded nonwhites and women.

"If we’re gonna’ be preaching diversity and being inclusive," Wooten declared, "then, for crying out loud, let's back it up. Let's make the rhetoric meet the reality."

TRMLX, an account with the self-appointed purpose of "maintaining accountability in the Armed Forces," shared Wooten’s video on Twitter, where it garnered 1.6-million views in 48-hours. Subject video was shared, also, to TikTok, where it gleaned 25,000 views.

Unconfirmed reports contend Wooten’s remarks were, in point of fact, made in 2022.

The Civil Air Patrol (CAP) is a congressionally-chartered, federally-supported, non-profit, largely-volunteer U.S. Air Force Auxiliary organization tasked with organizing and maintaining a network of pilots and aircraft capable of responding alacritously and in perpetuity to local and national emergencies. The notion that a volunteer organization comprising primarily teenagers and predicated upon operating aircraft under demanding conditions should willfully divest itself of “middle-aged white people, especially dudes that are pilots” certainly seems open to questioning...
