Avelo Orders 50 Embraer E195-E2s Worth $4.4B

Includes Options For Up To 50 More

Avelo Airlines, the Houston, Texas-based ultra-low-cost carrier, has placed a firm order with Embraer for 50 of its E195-E2 aircraft, with options for an additional 50, to support the airline’s strategy of delivering affordable and convenient air transportation in the U.S. The order is valued at about $4.4 billion not including the purchase rights, and deliveries of the aircraft are expected to begin in early 2027.

Avelo will become the first U.S. carrier to utilize the largest and most advanced Embraer commercial aircraft, representing a landmark for the manufacturer’s E2 program. Avelo intends to modernize its fleet with the narrowbody E195-E2 as an accompaniment to its Boeing 737NG aircraft as it also improves its cost efficiency and extends its network.

The proprietary technology of the E2’s Embraer Enhanced Takeoff System (E2TS) enables its excellent short-field performance that will prove key in opening new market opportunities for Avelo. The E2TS, in combination with its range, fuel efficiency, and low noise signature will establish the E2’s lead role in expanding the Avelo network.
