Update: Elixir Aircraft Scores Pre-Orders and LOIs at AirVenture

Expands Order Book and Meets With Suppliers, FAA Officials

French airplane manufacturer Elixir’s third year exhibiting at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh was very productive for the company as it preps to start U.S. deliveries when FAA Part 23 certification of its two initial models is issued as anticipated in early 2025.

The company announced it had signed 80 letters of intent for 110 aircraft as well as 20 pre-orders, swelling its order book from 200 to 330 aircraft including orders, pre-orders, and letters of intent. The letters of intent will convert to pre-orders when certification is received.

Elixir brought two of its models to AirVenture, where its display was set up in the middle of the student pilot area near the flight schools. The Elixir 100 hp for training and the Elixir 140 hp for travel were on display, and ANN spoke with one of the co-founders, Cyril Champenois, who told us they were very happy to be at Oshkosh talking with potential customers as well as FAA officials. Those meetings went well as FAA had the opportunity to see the aircraft up close and get more detailed firsthand information. 

The trainer version is anticipated to be priced between $120,00 and $150,000 while the travel version will be in the $450,000 to $500,000 range depending on options selected.

We described in a previous edition how Elixir is on track to meet its goal of delivering one aircraft per week through the end of this year. The company is expanding its production facilities to include a new 15,000 square meter site in La Rochelle, France. It will also build a plant at the Sarasota Bradenton International Airport (KSRQ) that will initially be dedicated to reassembly of aircraft for delivery to American customers. To solidify the supply chain in preparation for that opening in spring 2025, Elixir also met with its main suppliers Beringer, MT Propellers, Rotax, and BRS to confirm those plans.
