Oklahoma's Museum of Women Pilots Expanding

2nd Floor Will Expand Displays, Activities, and Education for Visitors

The 99s Museum of Women Pilots is expanding, taking up recently vacated space formerly used by its parent organization.

The Museum has been located on the 2nd floor of the headquarters of The Ninety-Nines Inc, as a part of the International Organization of Women Pilots.

With the organization's recent move, the Museum found a chance to expand into the new space, bringing more than 5,000 square feet to its exhibits.

“It was obvious that our museum needed more room,” said 99s President Corbi Bulluck, “and this decision allows them vital space for display areas, educational programs, work areas, and storage.”

The new addition will see some space converted to meet museum industry standards on environmental control so that all pieces in the museum's possession will be maintained to industry par.

Items will be shifted into the new space on the 1st floor, creating an additional area for exhibits, meetings, and activities upstairs. The Museum will, in due time, increase its offerings for educational programs for youth and adults, fostering the next generation of women in aviation.

Remodeling of the new space will begin in the coming weeks. The museum will not be affected while construction continues, with the 2nd story museum open for regular attendance.

The Museum can be found on the Will Rogers World Airport campus, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma from Tuesday through Saturday.
