De Havilland Aircraft Will Deliver Three To SkyAlyne For Training

The government of Canada announced that SkyAlyne has been awarded the Future Aircrew Training (FAcT) program for the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF). The program is designed to deliver training services to the RCAF to maintain a multi-purpose and combat capable air force.

The training will be for pilots as well as aircrew training for Air Combat Systems Officers (ACSO) and Airborne Electronic Sensor Operators (AES Op).

SkyAlyne is a joint venture formed between flight CAE and KF Aerospace, two global providers of flight and cabin crew training, and aircraft maintenance, repair, engineering, and parts manufacturing, respectively.

De Havilland Aircraft of Canada (DHC) will support the program by delivering three Dash 8-400 aircraft to SkyAlyne. DHC will also provide airworthiness engineering and in-service engineering support for the aircraft after they are placed into service in the program.

Ryan DeBrusk, Vice-President of Sales and Marketing for DHC said, “De Havilland Canada aircraft have been part of the RCAF for almost as long as the Royal Canadian Air Force has been flying.

“We have been producing aircraft in Canada for the RCAF since 1928, including the DHC-3 Otter and DHC-5 Buffalo which were featured on the commemorative two-dollar coin celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Air Force. Today, the RCAF continues to fly DHC-6 Twin Otters, and we couldn’t be more pleased that the Dash 8-400 will be used by the FAcT program to train the aircrews of tomorrow.”
