Hover Camera Passport UAV Designed For Personal Use

Finally Launching At Under $600

If you've been looking for a 4K foldable flying camera that won't make people crazy when you fly it indoors, you might want to check out the Zero Zero Robotics Passport, which has finally launched after a lengthy development process.

The drone folds up to about the size of a videocassette (remember those?), and its rotors are fully enclosed so that operators can safely pluck it out of the air, and it won't cause as much concern when its being flown indoors.

Engadget reports that the 13 megapixel camera will capture 4K video, and the aircraft includes face and body tracking, an automatic 360 spin for panoramic views, and an orbit feature to get all angles of its subject.

The aircraft is controlled by your smartphone, there is no separate controller.  I weighs just 8.5 ounces, so it is not subject to registration under the FAA's hobbyist rules.

It will fly up to 17 miles per hour, and has a 10 minute hover time in calm air. It will fly to an altitude of over 6,500 feet, so be careful about that 400 foot altitude limit.

The Passport is available for pre-order for an early-bird price $549. That is expected to go to $599 fairly soon.
